# Disabling the native (Bigcommerce) star rating widget on Bigcommerce

To disable the default Bigcommerce star rating widget, follow the steps below:

1. In your Bigcommerce dashboard, go to Storefront

2. Click on Themes, then click the Advanced dropdown, and select Edit theme files

3. Click on templates >> components >> products >> product-view.html

4. Comment out the whole product view rating section using a "<!--<xxxx>--> on each line, as seen in the image below. When done, click Save & apply all files

5. Done. Check to see that it is indeed removed.
